Privacy notice

Last updated 16 October 2026

This notice explains what information Setavo collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We've written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, get in touch using the details below.

Who we are

Setavo is based in Manchester, United Kingdom, and is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. For anything relating to your personal information, contact us on WhatsApp or through the form on our Start a project page.

What we collect

When you send us a project enquiry

  • your name, business name, email address and phone number (including the country you choose for it)
  • your website address, if you give it
  • what you'd like to improve, your description of what happens now and what you'd like instead
  • how you'd like us to contact you

How you arrived at the site

When you send an enquiry, we also record the page you first landed on, the website that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (UTM parameters). This is kept in your browser's session storage only for the current visit, and is sent to us only if you submit the form.

Website usage

We don't currently use analytics tools or tracking cookies on this website. If we start using them, we'll update this notice first.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project. You give permission for this when you submit the form, and it's also in our legitimate interest to respond to people who contact us.
  • To understand which pages and campaigns bring enquiries, using the arrival details sent with your enquiry.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing without asking you first.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run the website and deliver enquiries to us: Cloudflare hosts the website and receives the form, and enquiries are recorded in Google Sheets and sent to us by email through Google. If you message us on WhatsApp directly, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp. These providers process information only on our instructions.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for 24 months so we can follow up and refer back to the conversation, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. A backup copy kept by our website host is deleted automatically after 90 days. If you become a client, project records are kept in line with our contract with you.

Cookies and browser storage

The site doesn't use advertising cookies. We use your browser's session storage to remember how you arrived for the current visit (see above); it's cleared when you close the tab. Our fonts are served from our own website, not from a third party.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • correct information that's wrong
  • delete your information
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • transfer it to you or another organisation, where that applies

To make a request, contact us on WhatsApp or through the Start a project form. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
